Preventive Care & Vaccines

Did you know that many of the diseases and illnesses that can affect dogs and cats are preventable through proper pet vaccinations? There are a number of diseases that can afflict cats and dogs, but most pets can be protected from the worst of them if they are vaccinated properly. We believe the best way to promote overall health is through preventative care. Regular checkups allow us to establish a baseline in your pet’s health and make us aware of any changes that may indicate future problems.

Spays/Neuters

With few exceptions, most veterinarians recommend that ALL cats and dogs be spayed (female pets) or neutered (male pets). Feel free to contact us if you have questions about spaying or neutering your pet. We’re here to help!

Surgery

Our experienced team of doctors and staff make it their number one priority to focus on pain management and patient safety while using the most current surgical practices to ensure your pet receives the best veterinary care.

Feline Medicine

Our veterinary staff is skilled in diagnosing and treating feline internal medicine cases. In the event your cat becomes ill, your pet will receive a thorough examination, and we will discuss all of your treatment options to determine the proper protocol for your pet.

Pediatric Care

Our vets recommend that you set up your pet’s first visit with us as soon as possible. It’s important to get your new pet set up with a good parasite and vaccination program as well as a thorough examination to assure your puppy or kitten is healthy and prepared to stay that way.

Hospice Care and Euthanasia

Our pets fill our lives with joy and love, and managing their end-of-life care is always a heartbreaking challenge. We strive to give our pets the best life possible, and that includes giving them a peaceful and respectful death.

Hospice Care – As your pet nears the end of their life, our goal is often to prioritize comfort and freedom from suffering in their final weeks or months. Often there are interventions which can improve your pet’s quality of life, such as medication for pain relief, appetite stimulants, or techniques to improve their mobility. An individualized hospice care plan starts with a thorough discussion of your pet’s lifestyle and a physical examination. Although it is often impossible to know when it’s the “right time” to say your final goodbye, we are here to help you make that decision when the time comes.

Euthanasia – Your pet will first receive a dose of medication which will sedate them and relieve any pain they may be feeling. After this medication has taken effect, we will proceed with gentle euthanasia. You have the option of receiving a clay pawprint keepsake, made onsite. As a courtesy, we will also notify any other veterinarians involved in your pet’s care that your pet has passed.

Communal Cremation – If you do not wish to bury your pet at home or you are unable to do so, you may elect to have your pet cremated. Communal cremation is an option for families who do not wish to have their pet’s ashes returned to them. All cremations are done through Pet Angel Memorial Center, and the ashes are respectfully spread on a local family homestead.

Private Cremation – This is an option for families who wish to have their pet’s ashes returned to them. With this option, your pet is the only pet in the cremation chamber during the cremation process. Pet Angel Memorial Center offers a variety of memorial products to help you remember your beloved pet. After the cremation process is complete, your pet’s ashes are hand-delivered to your home.

House Calls
Dr. Baltutis additionally provides house call veterinary services. Get your pet the care they need without leaving the comfort of your home.
Wellness Care
Wellness Care, also called Preventive Care, is the key to a long, healthy life for your pet! This includes making sure your pet gets a full nose-to-tail exam by a veterinarian once or twice a year (depending on their health), stays up-to-date on their lifestyle-appropriate vaccines, and stays on preventatives to protect them again fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal parasites. It may also include diagnostics like bloodwork, a fecal evaluation, or a urine evaluation, depending on your pet’s age and health. All of these services are available through Well Bred Veterinary Mobile Services, which operates a franchise of Heal House Call Veterinarian. We also offer additional services such as pet weight-loss plans and behavioral analysis.
Dental Care

Oral health is vital to your pet’s overall well-being. As a pet owner, you should be examining your pet’s teeth on a regular basis to check for signs of dental disease. The symptoms of dental disease include:

  • Bleeding gums
  • Red, inflamed gums
  • Discolorations on the teeth and gums
  • Discomfort while eating
  • Reluctance to eat
  • Sores in the mouth
  • Loose, chipped, cracked, or missing teeth
  • Very bad breath

If your pet displays any of the above symptoms, this could be a clear sign that your pet needs to have his or her teeth examined and cleaned.

Breeding Management

Contact us if you plan on breeding your pet. We will help you make sure your pet is sound to breed and will be safe and healthy along the way.

Fear Free Environment

Our Fear Free environment will help make your pet’s visit better every time. Our team is dedicated to caring for your pet’s emotional well-being as well as his or her physical well-being during their visit.

Geriatric Care

We help address your pet’s changing needs and balancing treatments for disease symptoms and progression.

End of Life

Saying goodbye to your beloved friend will be one of the hardest things you have to do – you do not have to do it alone. We are here for you. We are here to provide your family and beloved pet with love and support during their palliative/hospice care days. Then, when the time comes, we will help you offer a peaceful transition from this life.

Reproductive Health

We believe that lifetime health starts before a pet is even born! Dr. Kristina Baltutis is passionate about reproductive medicine (also called theriogenology) and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Society for Theriogenology. To learn more about Dr. Kristina, please visit her website.

We also believe that the choice to breed your dog or cat is not one to be taken lightly. We want to work with you to ensure that your puppies are as healthy as they can possibly be, which will set them up for a lifetime of love with their future family. We expect our clients to be Good Breeders, as defined by the Good Dog Code of Ethics. Breeding dogs can be incredibly rewarding, but it is also a lot of work! We would be honored to be your partner in this endeavor.

We strive to provide high quality reproductive care in the comfort of your home. For those services not offered in our mobile setting (i.e. c-sections, semen freezing, transcervical insemination), we have formed partnerships with a number of excellent brick-and-mortar practices which are able to fill this need. Through these partners, we are able to offer a comprehensive reproductive health service, including breeding soundness examinations, health testing, breeding management, semen collection, insemination, pregnancy management, whelping assistance, and neonatal care. If there is a service that interests you, which you do not see listed, please contact us.
